Creating an environment is easy -- all it needs is a name and an (optional) category and description. Once your environment is created, you'll be able to begin deploying containers to it.
Environment categories are an optional way for you to group environments together. You may have an app - let's say it's called "Todo" - with different stages of deployment. Instead of creating an environment called
Todo Staging, and
Todo Production, you can create a category called
Todo and put
Production under it. This will sort them on the list automatically.
To create an environment, follow these steps:
- Click the "Environments" tab on the navigation menu to the left.
- In the top right corner, find the "Create Environment" button and click it.
- In the form, enter a name for this environment (usually the name of your application you are building) and an optional description.
- Click "Create". You will be taken to the environment dashboard.
