Deploying A Stack

Stacks are a powerful, declarative way to manage groups of containers. Learn how to deploy specific stack builds to an environment.

Check out the Stacks documentation to get started building one. You must have a stack to deploy in order to get to this step.

Each stack is made up of builds, and each build is made up of the container images snapshotted to when the build was created. Deploying a stack to an environment is doing two things:

  • Associating the stack with the environment.
  • Deploying a specific build to the environment, i.e. creating all the containers within.

Choose Your Stack & Build

Use the dropdown to select which stack you wish to deploy. In the area below, a list of builds will appear, with the newest appearing first. In the tile representing the build, you'll be able to see when it was created, and what containers are within. The hostname is on the left, and the container image name is on the right.

You can see the containers within the build tile. The text over the gray area is the hostname.

Click the build you wish to deploy, and then "Deploy" on the bottom right of the form. Since the configuration is already handled in the cycle.yml file, and the images already imported in the build, there's nothing left to do. You'll immediately be taken to the "Containers" tab of your environment, and all you'll need to do is start it!
