Deploying Containers to an Environment

Environments are only useful if you have containers deployed to them. Learn how to quickly create a one-off container, as well as how to deploy entire stacks of containers to an environment.

There are two main ways to deploy a container into an environment. The easiest way is to deploy a single container using the portal. This method will get you online quick with minimal configuration. For larger, more complex applications comprising of multiple containers, Cycle offers stacks, a way to declare multiple containers and their configurations in a single file committed up with a git repo.

To get to the deployment form, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Environments tab on the navigation menu to the left.
  2. Select the name of the environment you wish to deploy to on the table. This will take you to the environment dashboard.
  3. On the environment dashboard, click Deploy Containers in the top right corner (next to the start and stop buttons).
  4. Select the type of deployment you wish to do (single container or stack) and click Next.
