Before getting started make sure to verify your email address with Vultr after signing up.

Log into your Vultr account find the nav bar on the left and select the account tab.

Navigate to the Api Page

Once you are in your account settings you will see a tab at the top for API. Click that tab as shown in the image below.

Enable the API

Vultr will now ask you to enable the API. Click the Enable API button and you're on to the final step.

Copy your Key and enable IPv4 and IPv6

To use this key with Cycle you will need to click both Allow All IPv4 (IPv6) so that you can deploy directly from our platform.

Generate Vultr SSH Keys

The following are the steps you need to generate SSH keys for your Vultr infrastructure. It will assume you have followed the API key generation guide above and are familiar with the Vultr dashboard.

  • Sign into your Vultr Account.
  • Click SSH Keys in the top navigation.
  • Choose the Add SSH Key button.
  • Name the SSH key "Cycle".
  • Paste in your rsa file and click Add SSH Key.

If for some reason Cycle becomes unresponsive and you need to rescue the files on your infrastructure, use your ssh key on port 2160 to log directly onto the Cycle OS.
